Hey COG Royal Rangers, it is now spring and many of your state's and regions are planning their pow wows and various other camps. Now is a great time to check out the dates of when these events will occur. A Royal Rangers Pow Wow is a great event for boys to come to Jesus. My life was forever impacted through Royal Rangers and it was at a Pow Wow that I felt a call to ministry. You never know the impact a council fire service will have on a young man's life! Make every effort to invite the young men from your church to your state/region's Pow Wow!

We've had a few questions as to how and why we should charter our outposts. There are several benefits listed on the national website. Those are: 15% discount on Ranger gear when ordered via the Ranger Online Superstore 15% discount on all national and regional training events 15% discount on national and regional activities like Camporama, Rendezvous, National LEAD Conference, and more 15% discount on district training events 15% discount on select district Royal Rangers activities and events Your outpost will gain access to the Outpost Promotional Kit, an electonic resource providing a variety of materials suitable for use in promoting your outpost program. Access to download Outpost Navigator, a data-tracking tool to record and track boys’ and leaders’ advancements An official outpost number to wear on your uniform Chartered outposts are included in the search results for the "Outpost Locator" search feature on the national web site. For COG Rangers, we are working along side the Assemblies of God in helping to develop our Rangers programs. There is one bit of information you may need as you try to come alongside them. The AG's call their state or region a "district." What we call a district, they call a "section." If you are wanting to attend the state Pow Wow (a camping event for boys usually ages 9 and up and usually scheduled late spring to early summer), you will need to look on the District Website for the state you are in. Some states have more than one AG District. If you have any questions, send me an email and I will help you find the correct website. For example, Missouri has TWO districts. There is Northern and Southern. Royal Ranger training season is in full swing! By checking the Royal Ranger website of the state you are in, Directors and Pastors may find more information and schedules. That is how Pastor Jerry Cox of the Powell Church of God got involved this weekend. The Tennessee District Royal Rangers held the Royal Ranger Essentials Course at the Christ Connection Church in Farragut, TN (in the Knoxville area), December 1, 2012. At the encouragement of Gerald E McGinnis from Parkwest Church of God (Knoxville, TN), Pastor Cox and his entire boys ministry team attended. Pastor Cox and all of the team successfully completed the course and are being awarded the Royal Ranger Essentials Patch to wear on their uniforms. This very intense, eight hour course allows participants to experience first-hand the high energy, interactive and spiritual content of a Royal Ranger meeting. Leaders who complete the training are better prepared to evangelize, equip, and empower the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders! Congratulations, Powell Church of God, for taking the steps to becoming the premier, most sought after church ministry for the next generation of men in America—period!
